2012 Worlds Preview

Written By: Riedell | March 15, 2012

Let the countdown begin! In less than two weeks, we will see the world’s top figure skaters compete for the coveted international titles at the 2012 World Figure Skating Championships. The event will determine the World Champions in men’s, ladies, pairs and ice dancing. With the exception of the Olympic title, a world title is the highest competitive achievement in figure skating.

Taking place from March 26 to April 1, this will be the seventh time France has hosted the exciting event. It last held the competition in 2000, also in Nice.

To get in the mood, take a look at ISU’s official 2012 Worlds promo video:

We know we’ll see the world’s most talented skaters bring their A-game across all skating disciplines. Riedell pairs skater Caydee Denney and her partner John Coughlin are among the teams representing the United States this year. We wish them the best of luck!

Check out the program, including dates and times of events, so you don’t miss a single exciting moment. Because not all events will be broadcast (view broadcast schedule), we will also be posting updates from our Twitter and Facebook pages to keep skating fans like you informed. You can also become an Ice Network subscriber to enjoy live and on-demand footage throughout the week.
