My previous boots had many miles (and medals) on them.  With Junior Nationals coming up, I hoped my boots would last just a few more weeks so I would not have to worry about breaking in a new pair of boots. But four days before the competition, my boots spilt in two during a sit spin and had to be retired. Even my coach told me, “No repair possible.”  With such a short amount of time before such a big competition, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do!

Luckily, my mom had ordered a pair of lightweight Riedell Custom skates over the summer. I have seen skaters stress about the difficult adjustment to new skates.  This was not the case for me and my new Riedells! I laced up my new boots and began practicing my cross-overs and waltz jumps.  As the competition neared, I felt really good about the Riedell boots and felt confident going into the performance.  With the lighter model, I jumped higher than before and my partner, Christina Zaitsev, and I skated on to win the National Championship title! Thank you Riedell for saving the day!
