Riedell Represented @ the ISU Grand Prix

Written By: Riedell | October 6, 2011

In just over two weeks, the 2011-12 ISU Grand Prix Series will kick off with the Skate America competition in Ontario, California. Over the coming months, skaters will travel the world to the six international competitions that make up the Grand Prix Series to compete for a spot in the Grand Prix Finals in Quebec City this December.

Where you’ll see Riedell at the Grand Prix

Four Riedell skaters will represent their countries at the Grand Prix this season. Jeremy Abbott and Richard Dornbush from Team USA will both compete at the Cup of China in Beijing in early November. We’ll see Richard compete earlier in the season at Skate America, and Abbott will also skate in the Cup of Russia in late November.

And in the Ladies competition, Rachael Flatt from the US and Laura Lepistö from Finland will be rocking Riedells. Expect to see Rachael on the ice at Skate Canada in late October as well as the Cup of Russia. In addition to competing this season, Rachael is also a student at Stanford University! Unfortunately, Laura Lepistö recently withdrew from Skate America due to an apparent leg injury, but we’re hoping to see her on the ice at the Trophee Bompard in Paris, France in November.

Riedell would also like to congratulate our skaters who have been competing in the Junior Grand Prix which started in early September! The final JGP event in Estonia begins next week, and the JGP Finals will also be held in Quebec City this December.

  • Josh Farris earned a Gold Medal at the JGP, Poland
  • Kate Charbonneau placed 5th at the JGP, Poland
  • Emmanuel Savary placed 14th at the JGP, Latvia
  • McKinzie Daniels placed 10th at the JGP, Romania
