Hey roller fans! By now you probably know roller derby flick “Whip It” opens October 2 but did you know the cast is outfitted with Riedell roller skates and hot skating accessories?

The film follows rebellious small town pageant girl (Ellen Page) who trades her tiaras for elbow pads to join a roller-derby team in Drew Barrymore’s feature directorial debut. Barrymore, who had never put on skates before shooting the movie, often rolled into rehearsals on skates herself.

Riedell provides fifty five pairs of 265 Wicked skates along with the R3, 122 HellCat, 125 SheDevil and the 265 Vandal for display. Keep your eyes open for those! Check out those models as well as our full skate line up at RiedellRoller.com.

Riedell also provided rad roller gear and accessories like their Zuca bag, Radar sling bag, PowerDyne tools and many sets of Radar Wheels. To ensure best skate performance, Riedell’s Roller rep Ron Griffin was at the Michigan rink during filming to fit some of the derby team skaters.
