Team Riedell Joins Skate for Hope

Written By: Riedell | June 2, 2011

The annual Skate for Hope event is a few weeks away, and Riedell skaters Rachael Flatt, Johnny Weir and Josh Farris are gearing up to support cancer research. The annual show, held in Columbus, Ohio, has raised more than $293,000 for breast cancer research to date.

In addition to headliners like Rachael, Johnny and Josh, more than 100 skaters from Ohio will take to the ice for inspirational performances to bring to light the importance of breast cancer awareness, research and education.

Did you know? Skate for Hope was founded by a breast cancer survivor who credits figure skating (and all of her skating friends) for helping her maintain a positive attitude through her treatment.

Tickets are still available for the event, but if you can’t make it to the show, you can still donate to Skate for Hope. Do you have an inspirational story to share?
